Abstract

In this article the author discusses the relationship of the philosophy of culture to the issue of cultural identity. The philosopher’s task is to consistently distinguish between the importance of the concept of identity as a basis for cultural projects and, on the other hand, its theoretical significance, when used to describe an objective social and cultural reality.
