Abstract

This article presents the American thinker Hugo Tristram Engelhardt’s concept of bioethics. Despite the tendency to abandon systematic ethical analysis which is a notable feature of contemporary bioethics, Engelhardt makes an effort to construct a comprehensive system as a basis for arriving at detailed solutions. With this purpose in mind, the bioethicist presents both the so-called secular and the Christian bioethical projects.
