This paper examines the rich, but practically unknown, philosophical correspondence between the Polish Jesuit Adam Adamandy Kochański and the famous German philosopher and mathematician Gottfried W. Leibniz. It covers a vast subject-matter and embraces problems of mathematics, philosophy, linguistics, theory of gravitation, the geometry of Descartes, mechanics, politics, etc. The correspondence between Leibniz and Kochański also contains a vision of a new philosophy. It owes much to the legacy of Aristotle and the scholastics, but is also connected with scientific experimentation, technical activities and mathematics.
